St Nicholas is heavily linked to Dyffryn Gardens, with many of the gardeners having lived here and Swyn Y Coed being occupied the head gardener.
There is no obvious monument to this important part of the villages history.

Should the Community Council find some land and ask the gardeners of Dyffryn to design and create a community garden - perhaps including the outdoor gym equipment for the active, and a bench? The area of land at the end of Ger-Y-Llan where the historic tithe barn once stood has two private owners, but could potentially be purchased. Perhaps the low maintenance heather garden of Dyffryn could be recreated here? This area of land is within the Conservation Area. A community garden here would be a benefit for wildlife as the short grass offers very little.
